Nova’s Educational Approach

Nova's Educational Approach

The school has a very caring environment, and it is also where parents are seen as partners.  We are always upgrading, improving and enhancing not only our school systems, but also our student’s academics, emotional well-being and safety.  Nova Primary believes that the overall educational experience instils the knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and values that students will carry with them for life. We set a new standard in premium private education with hand-picked teachers and a dedication to excellence that permeates every aspect of our Primary Department. Integrating innovative, challenging and enriching academic, performing arts and sports Clubs and Activities, Nova’s students leave with outstanding results, a love of learning, confidence and a firm value system that prepares them to embrace the challenges life throws at them in their future endeavours."

We believe that “no child should be left behind”, and offer intervention plans free of charge for our students who are in need of extra support.

We have a Contemporary approach to teaching methodology.

•  IXL Math, Raz Kids and Encyclopaedia Britannica are aids to assist learning after ours, and our regularly monitored by our Teachers.

•   Interactive approach to teaching.

•  Problem-solving and interdisciplinary learning.

•  Critical thinking and research skills.

•  Student performance aligned with the academic standards.

•   Enhanced cooperation among students.

• Students are motivated to study self-reliantly through research and fact-finding.

• Synchronous and asynchronous communication with teachers and other students.

• One-to-one parent-teacher meetings.

• Contemporary approach to teaching material.

•  Teaching material is organised following a hierarchy based on the curriculum in terms of themes, topics and units.

•Teaching material is organised from known to unknown, from theoretical to practical and from easier to more comprehensive.

• At the beginning of each Topic or theme, learning objectives and outputs are defined clearly along with the activities planned for each unit.

• Lesson planning is carried out with the view to applying strategies for grabbing students’ attention and perception.

• Materials are adapted to students’ various learning styles and prior knowledge, while being accommodated in the students’ learning context.

•  At the end of each theme, there is a theme task, which activates students’ knowledge and encourages them to apply personal experiences while developing a problem-solving strategy.

•  The learning process is regarded as highly contextual and personal, yet shared with the learning community.
